A single cabin stands at the edge of the water, in the midst of a sanctuary built by the vast, towering layers of the natural world.
The muted tones and compressed distance give the image its weight. The eye moves slowly: shoreline to boreal, boreal to mountain, mountain into cloud. The cabin stands alone, but not lonely - a symbol of the tranquility that is found in solace.
Elsewhere is transcendent. A reminder that in nature, we are reconnected with something greater than our constructed world. Where nature is often framed as an escape from reality, this image reminds us that perhaps, it is where we return to reality. We all want to be Elsewhere, because maybe, that's where we're supposed to be.
This is an image that belongs in spaces that are grounded, to serve as the focal point of a room that values stillness and reflection.
